Safety Build kit and contest
Safety Build classroom kit
The Safety Build program offers students a chance to build LEGO® models to show what they can do to keep safe and explain why making healthy choices is important for everyone.
A free Safety Build classroom kit—complete with lesson ideas, story template and a set of LEGO® bricks for each student—is available to support teachers and help students have fun while learning about health and safety. And we’ll do a free class visit to introduce the kit! We hope students and teachers can use these materials to improve the Yukon’s culture of safety for years to come.
Call 867-667-5645 or email [email protected] to sign up for an initial class visit and free classroom kit.
Safety Build contest
Enter to win prizes by sending in pictures of students’ builds! Students will have a chance to win one of three great LEGO® prizes. Participating teachers will be entered into a draw for a class room LEGO® set.
Students just need to build LEGO® models that show how they keep safe during everyday activities at home or school, during sports, in cold or hot weather, near the water, near animals, in or near vehicles, when camping or during any other real life activity where kids have to think about their safety.
On big sticky notes, students describe their activity, the dangers and how they can keep safe, then photograph the build and sticky notes. Teachers or parents can complete the entry form below. Winners are chosen based on how well students show details in their builds, identify hazards, describe safe choices and write grade-appropriate texts. One entry per Yukon student in Grades 1 to 7 is eligible for prizes. Builds have to be original, not from LEGO sets. Entries must be received by May 16, 2024 at 5pm.
