What is an OH&S regulation variance?

In work and life, there are often exceptions to rules. A variance addresses that reality and offers employers a way to maintain worker health and safety even when YWCHSB regulations seem at odds with how a workplace operates.

The key point to any regulation variance is that it must ensure an equivalent or greater degree of safety to workers than that identified in the regulations.

If you have any questions about applying for an OH&S regulation variance, please call us at (867) 667-5645 or 1-800-661-0443, and ask for the Director of OH&S.
