How do I get back to work?
We’re sorry to hear you’ve been injured.
We want to get you back to work as soon as it is safe to do so. The reason for this is clear -- you will heal faster and more completely if you can get back to work.
So, how will we do this?
First, get a copy of your Functional Abilities form from your health-care provider. If you need a copy of the form, you can find it here.
It lays out what physical actions you can safely do at this point in your healing process.
You should discuss these capabilities with your employer. Many pre-injury work duties can be easily modified to accommodate your new situation.
If that’s not possible, be creative. Ask yourself, is there something else I can do while I heal?
Plan to get back to work as soon as possible.
And follow your health-care providers’ advice for your recovery.
Keep in touch with your employer as you get better. Work with them to gradually return to your job.
Also, we’d like you to keep in touch with us as your treatment progresses. We have lots of experience integrating workers back into the workforce and can help you do it.
Getting you back to work is important to all of us. We share a responsibility to make it happen.
So start your planning early, keep in touch with your employer and with us. Together, we’ll work to restore your pre-injury lifestyle safely and quickly.
That’s the goal.
And there’s none better.
