What is the claims appeal process?

Workers, the dependent of a deceased worker or employers can file an appeal of any claims decision made by Yukon Workers' Compensation Health and Safety Board.

On claim matters, there is a two-level appeal process.

Level One

Your complaint is reviewed by a hearing officer. You can get this started by filling out and submitting Request for a Review by a Hearing Officer form, which is available for download here:

This will initiate a review process within the Yukon Workers' Compensation Health and Safety Board.

Level Two

If you are not satisfied with your first appeal, you may go to the Worker’s Compensation Appeal Tribunal.

If you want more information about the process, contact the appeals assistant:

Phone: 867-667-5645
Toll-free: 1-800-661-0443.
