Employer payroll revision
At the beginning of each year, employers are required to submit an Employer’s Payroll Return and Contract Labour Report (EPR) that provides an estimate of their payroll for the upcoming year.
To avoid an underestimating penalty, employers have until December 31, 2019, to make a revision to their payroll estimate. Note that if this revision is made after September 30, 2019, no payment plan option is available for the increased assessment. The employer will be required to pay the full premium assessed on the revision immediately.
If an employer fails to submit a revision by the end of 2019 and their actual payroll is more than 125 percent of their estimate, the employer will be subject to a penalty and an interest charge.
How to submit payroll revisions
To report a payroll estimate revision, an employer can follow these instructions:
Visit our website at wcb.yk.ca/es.
Enter your email address in the From field.
Enter your employer name in the Subject field.
Copy and paste the text below into the Message field:
Customer Number: [customer number]
Current Payroll Estimate: [payroll reported on EPR]
New Payroll Estimate: _____________________
Enter your new payroll estimate in the New Payroll Estimate line. Do not include credit card information. No payment is due now. We will send you an invoice with the revised payment amount.
Click the Send button.
The employer will receive a confirmation email to advise them that we received the submission.
An employer can also submit a payroll revision by fax or mail using the information below.
