Self-Assess Your Return to Work Program

A return to work (RTW) program is an important element of every employer's plan for ensuring the health and welfare of workers.

The quickest and easiest way to establish an understanding of the quality of your current RTW program, or to start developing one, is to perform a self-assessment. You can find an online resource to assist you with this at the International Disability Management Standards Council (IDMSC) web site.

It's called the Disability Management Self-Assessment (DMSA) tool. It can either be completed online, or you can print a paper copy.

Here's how to access and use it.

First, visit the Disability Management page on the IDMSC web site.

Then, as pictured below, click on the "DMSA Questions" menu, to reveal two options:

  • Print Version (PDF)
  • Commence Assessment

If you'd like to print the self-assessment and complete it on paper, click the "Print Version" link. To complete the self-assessment online, click "Commence Assessment".
