Workers’ Advocate

The Workers’ Advocate office provides advice and support to injured workers and the dependents of those killed on the job.

The Advocate advises workers and their dependents about the compensation process and the meaning and effect of their compensation claims. They also assist and represent workers negotiating claims before an adjudicator, hearing officer or appeal committee.

Appointed by the Minister of Justice, the Advocate is independent of the Yukon Workers’ Compensation Health and Safety Board.

Visit the Workers’ Advocate website or contact them by email at workers.advocate@gov.yk.ca. The office can be reached by telephone at (867) 667-5324. You can reach them toll-free from Yukon communities outside of Whitehorse at 1-800-661-0408, local 5324.
