What is the Worker’s Compensation Appeal Tribunal?

This quasi-judicial body hears final-level appeals from workers and employers on compensation claim matters.

It is independent from the Yukon Workers' Compensation Health and Safety Board.

The tribunal’s goals are:

  • to ensure workers, their dependents and employers are treated with compassion, respect and fairness;
  • set hearings as soon as possible while ensuring adequate preparation time for all parties. This will include getting the file, summarizing its contents for easy reference and allowing time to review it before the hearing;
  • write quality decisions quickly;
  • ensure the tribunal members are trained properly to hear appeals.

You may appeal with or without the help of the Worker’s Advocate.

The tribunal has an office as 456 Range Road.
