How can I pay less?

The best way for you, as an employer, to pay less for workers’ compensation is to improve safety practices and reduce jobsite injuries. Period.

Workers’ compensation is an insurance program paid for by Yukon employers. Injured workers receive wage replacement, enhanced health care and return to work support, paid for by this program. These costs can be very high.

If there are fewer or less serious injuries in Yukon workplaces, the cost of running the insurance program drops. That is why improved safety practices on the job are the surest way to guarantee employers pay less in the long term.

In the short term, however, you can lower your costs by participating in our CHOICES rebate program. You train your workers to create safer, healthier workplaces, and we reduce your workers’ compensation payments.
