Youth Video Contest Winners

Every year Skills Yukon and the Yukon Workers’ Compensation Health and Safety Board challenge Yukon students in grades 10 through 12 to produce videos on a theme related to workplace safety.

Students and their schools can win cash prizes and the opportunity to compete in a national video competition for even more prizes.

2018

Theme: “Weed at Work”

First prize: 2018 Youth Safety Animation, Nicholas Morgan and Mackenzie Cameron, F.H. Collins Secondary School

Second prize: Shop Safety Video RSS, grade 10 – 12 students, Robert Service School

2017

Theme: “Prevention Works for Me”

First prize: Prevention Works for Me, Aaron Leef-Kayter, James Choi and Jaiden Legge, Porter Creek Secondary School

Second prize: Behind the Scenes, Eli Moorhouse and Elisha Leenders, F. H. Collins Secondary School

Third prize: Safety Animation, Nicholas Morgan and Mackenzie Cameron, F. H. Collins Secondary School

2016

Theme: “What happened then?”

First prize: Flying or Falling, Ona Toews and Amanda Thomson, Wood Street Centre
